Do we rebel, do we challenge the courts (apparently this has been done all the way to the SCOTUS and been approved). Were do we go from here?

An excellent question and one I admit I don't have the answer to (but have sure been considering a lot lately). When the courts make obviously wrong decisions (which I'll differentiate from decisions I personally don't like, but which might be technically correct), then they forfeit the authority of their position. Their opinion no longer has any legitimate meaning. they've been getting progressively worse for the past eight decades or so, capping it with the ludicrous Obamacare decision, as well as the AZ SB1070 one. What the practical steps must be to even begin to correct this situation I don't know, but we better figure it out, and quick.

Apparently knee-jerk is not part of your vocabulary.

Nice to get a response that is well thought out and logical. Unfortunately rebellion might be our only option unless we are willing to accept political slavery.

At my age (66), I hope I’m not around to see the chaos that rebellion might cause.
