I had no business getting a Teriyaki descendant, even as far back in my boy's pedigree as that old monster was (with my own eyes I saw him meet his teeth in a CFA judge's hand, then flee under the bleachers to hide and bite his owner for good measure. If he hadn't been a Quadruple Grand Champion he would have been put down. Same old story - prestige and show points win over temperament.)
That was when I learned that Breeding Tells. I bred and showed Siamese for 10+ years, and Finny was the only one I ever had who had a mean streak. Quirky sense of humor, yes. REALLY loud voices, yes. Goofy behavior like dropping on people's heads from the top of doors, yes. But never biting, never scratching.
My current little Siamese is a gentle lamb, she won't even scratch the dogs when they give her big sloppy kisses, she just yells at them and sketches a slap in their general direction. She is a favorite at the vet because she's a cuddler and never struggles to get down or run away.
Good for you.
But I would still sleep with one eye open ;)

What instinct this satisfies I will never know. We are just their playthings, I guess.
