Another effective technique: You've been outmaneuvered and manipulated at the start, by getting something into your hands. Now you're stuck with whatever they've handed you, and you're anchored in place, under their control. They won't accept it back until you've "answered some survey questions" with a view towards separating you from your money.

Drop it on the ground and walk off? Or just thank them for the gift of the nice clipboard and walk off.

By the time police arrived at the 300 block of 17th Avenue North, the two assailants were restrained and the homeowner suffered only minor injuries.

I hope they were "restrained" by the time the cops got there. All tied up and ready for transport.

when a 21-year-old salesman from Iowa and a 18-year-old salesman

Sounds like Obama wrote this.

I suppose in retrospect he wishes he’d have just taken Sports Illustrated for a year...

Note that the homeowner had the two "restrained" before the cops got there. In retrospect, I suppose the two "salesmen" wish they had skipped this guy's house.

Stopped and staked. Sadly caught unawares, most sheeple just stand there holding the object not knowing what to do, while being robbed of time and money. As for me, I never let strangers stop me on the street, and I certainly don't allow strangers to place strange things in my hands. They see me coming, but I always see them first.
