Skip to comments.Michele Bachmann fires off a 16-Page Bombshell to Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison

Yes, there is a Huma Abedin angle to this story but a certain Muslim Congressman seems to be in the middle of digging himself a bit of a hole.
On July 12th, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Muslim-MN) sent a two-page letter to the five congressmen who sent five separate letters to five separate Inspectors General on June 13th. The June 13th letters raised serious concerns about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration inside the U.S. Government. Among the concerns raised with the OIG at the State Department are the familial connections of Hillary Clintons closest aide Huma Abedin to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ellison attempted to pit Bachmann against Republicans like Herman Cain and Chris Christie by pointing out that her source in the June 13th letters seemed to be one person Frank Gaffney. Gaffney has rightfully been very critical of said Republicans in the past for their comments and actions relative to Muslim Brotherhood front groups.
Moreover, Ellison seemed to allege in his July 12th letter that Gaffney was Bachmanns only source.
Here is how Ellison ended that letter:
Despite Mr. Gaffneys record of unsubstantiated allegations, you appear to have based your letters to the Inspectors General on his views.
I request that you provide my office a full accounting of the sources you used to make the serious allegations against the individuals and organizations in your letters. If there is not credible, substantial evidence for your allegations, I sincerely hope that you will publically (sic) clear their names.
Ask and ye shall receive, Congressman
Bachmann responded to Ellison by sending him a 16-page bombshell (via SC Times) that is strewn with 59 separate footnotes, proving unequivocally that Gaffney is hardly her only source. Says Bachmann:
I do note that the facts we presented in the Inspector General request letters are based on information presented by U.S. Government officials in court documents, court evidence, correspondence and briefings with Congress and public statements, in addition to known media reporting. These letters were far from sole-sourced as you maintain in your letter.
While I cant speak on behalf of the other signatories of these letters, nor am I able to get into the private discussions and documentation received by the various House committees represented by the signatories on these matters that motivated these letters to the various Inspectors General, out of respect to you I am happy to respond to some of your concerns, provide the sources you ask for, as well as clarify a few points that may have been misunderstood or misrepresented.
Furthermore, Ellisons defense of groups that should be identified as enemies of the United States puts him in dangerous territory and Bachmann exploited it. In citing the Holy Land Foundation Trial along with attempts by CAIR and ISNA to be removed from unindicted co-conspirator list Bachmann quotes from the Judges declination of that request:
Finally, CAIR, NAIT, and ISNA ask the Court to strike their names from any public document filed or issued by the government (Mot. at 6.) While it is clear from the Briggs line of cases that the Government should have originally filed the unindicted co-conspirators names under seal, the Court declines to strike CAIR, ISNA and NAITs names from those documents. The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), and with Hamas. (Bachmanns letter cites the Judges Memorandum Opinion Order)
Ellison is dangerously close to outwardly defending groups tied to Hamas a designated terrorist organization and hes doing so on the Congressional record. Bachmann basically check-mates Ellison in the very next sentence:
It should be noted that Article 2 of the Hamas Covenant identifies Hamas as a Muslim Brotherhood entity while Article 7 calls for the global killing of all Jews (Bachmann cites of all things Yale Law School).
Ellison is attempting to smear Bachmann while defending Huma Abedin from much needed scrutiny. Bachmann merely wants to investigate Abedins familial connections to the Muslim Brotherhood. Its already known that Humas mother Saleha Abedin is one of the Muslim Sisterhoods 63 leaders. Is Ellison willing to overlook or deny this? That also puts him on very dangerous ground.
Ellison might want to re-think his position or he will be openly choosing the wrong side as more evidence is produced.
On second thought, Congressman, just keep telling us how you really feel. In a bizarre way, its kind of refreshing.
She woulda made a great nominee.
VP would be next best thing.
If Huma comes under scrutiny—Hillary comes under scrutiny—if Hillary comes under scrutiny— Obma comes underscrutiny.
Ellison does not come under scrutiny ,it isn’t necessary ,we already know he is a Muslim traitor.
“Keith Ellison’s two-page letter has officially been smacked down.”
OK. Now it’s time to smack him down.
We know who the enemy is.
Who in the hell votes for a moslem?
Wait. Don’t answer that.
interesting isn’t it that Minnesota has such strong Muslim conclaves that an African-American Muslim could be electd to Congress...
Let’s not judge people by their words only. AFter all, we have Barry & Hillary championing these uprisings - first in Tunisia, and then on to Egypt, and then Libya and now Syria and soon Jordan. Muslim Brotherhood behind it all. And Barry & Hill are just fine with that. It makes Huma happy, too. So, what’s the problem???
Thank God for Bachmann, who of them all, remains unafraid.
We needed a radical s.o.b. conservative like her, and we still do.
Just thinking about this for a moment .... Ann Romney was positive toward a woman VP, Mitt wants someone who could step into presidential shoes if something happened, she certainly knows Congress, she’d bring some conservative votes with her, she DEFINITELY knows who the ‘enemy within’ is, & she’s a “warrior” when she believes in something ...... on the other hand, liberal/media heads would explode. :-)
Huma is Monica for the Sec of St
Once again Ms. Bachmann displays larger cajones than most of the GOP males put together.
Most of you male GOPers should be ashamed, but apparently you’ve been so metrosexualized you’re satisfied to let the girls do the heavy lifting...again.
Is this the Mr. Gaffney who is married to Rep. Joanne Emerson?
She is doing fine where she is
She lacked the gravitas to be President
Maybe he does have her in mind for VP....but, I doubt his Bush-era advisors would go for her.
Yeah, we provided with good reasons to reject every one of our candidates... except the one we ended up with.
And this is a bad thing because?
It’s not .... that’s why I had a ‘smiley’ face after. :-)
found this in the Star Tribune:
WASHINGTON - Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison will go before a House panel on homegrown Islamic terrorism later this week, but he won’t be sitting with fellow members of Congress.
He’ll be at the witness table.
Ellison, a Muslim whose Minneapolis district has been fertile recruitment ground for Al-Shabab insurgents in Somalia, calls the GOP-led inquiry a “McCarthyistic” witch hunt that could demonize Muslims. As a star witness in the hearing, Ellison will be spotlighted nationally as the face of American Muslims.
Probably not many Somalis to put Ellison in office...but plenty of communists/Leftists/progressives/whatever.
