Paterno’s huge mistake was in not insisting that Sandusky be completely barred from campus until the allegations were completely investigated and a decision made.

How does he do that when in September 2001 at the behest of Spanier and Schultz the Board of Trustees of the University approved the sale of a parcel of land to Sandusky's charity The Second Mile.

Paterno had no responsibility for Sandusky's emeritus status and the deal he struck with the university brass which gave him access to university facilities.

However the Board of The Second Mile Board was told of Sandusky's behaviour in 2001. Who are those people and what did they do???

If you read the report Curley met with the executive director and told him that someone saw Sandusky in the locker room shower with a boy and felt uncomfortable with situation and concluded that nothing inappropriate occurred.

You must be delusional if you think Paterno didn’t have any input into that deal. JoePa had just told Jerry he was no longer the heir apparent. He and Joe probably negotiated the deal themselves.
