"the 87th annual Cincoteague Pony Swim"

Those poor beasts must be getting really old.

Three separate times last week one or another of the stallions swam their mares and foals over to Chincoteague - of course they had to be rounded up and brought back over to Assateague!

Kind of a “wash, rinse, and repeat”, eh?

Is “swam their mares” some sort of equestrian euphemism? ;-)

On these islands, you can not only lead a horse to water, you can also make it swim. But only if you're a stallion.

Give it a try if you want.

It took two trips to the ac supply store but it turned out to be the fan motor and my smart guy repaired it himself..... four hours without air conditioning but it was working by late afternoon. Thanks - I knew you would understand how bad it can get here in the summer.

Hallelujah! You forget that I spent a summer in Houston in 1980 which had record breaking heat at that time. I was very concerned for you! We were there for a trial that summer and lived in the Allen parkway apts in river oaks.

No Thursday thread, huh?

Had 2 spicy chikin biskits for breakfast at Chick-Fil-A. Will be eating at Chick-Fil-A at least once a week for the rest of the year. August 1 is "Chick-Fil-A Day"...I expect they will be overwhelmed.

Let the Obamathugs in Chicago keep Mr. Cathy's store from opening there...it will only further drive up his business.

Scumbags.

Xsbaby and I stopped at the drive thru at theYulee, FL Chickfila yesterday just for diet lemonades bc I’m so incensed over this BS. We will def go on 8/1and probably several times in between. let them keep it up and it will drive the majority who support traditional marriage to go there daily!

My daughter and I had chick fil-A yesterday at the mall. We eat there often, but it is usually so crowded - and it still will be here. Hopefully some who pass it by because of the crowds will stop and eat there so they don’t lose a single penny over this.
