Not skin of my teeth. Skin of my testicles. It got THAT close. If I hadn’t once been an addict and didn’t know how they think, I would be in jail RIGHT NOW trying to figure out how to get bonded out on a BIG bail amount (2 times the vehicle worth) and of course my job would be long gone.

Right in Proverbs it tells you not to put your name on someone elses debt.

Our government must feel pretty good to have some 300 million suckers.

Under that definition, an addict who (I thought and had all evidence) was recovering, then I too would be a ‘dysfunctional people’. But I’m not.

In all my years Laz, I never have figured out myself, why sometimes its so damn hard to just say no.

Laz...first of all, you are a good egg. I would have done the same. Before doing something like that again, you probably should consult with another person who has no skin in the game. Trust is a difficult thing. I still have solid trust with most people these days but as The great Ronald Reagan always said: Trust but verify.

Never sign for anyone. Never. Do not co-sign. There is generally a good reason why they can not get it on their own.

I aged about 5 years.

I know that feeling very well. I rented a U-Haul for a down and out family member and had a similar experience. Real nightmare.
