If it's regular dent corn, I mix diatomatious earth with it to keep the bugs out. It should last 25 years if you keep it dry.

Thanks, I knew you could make snakes uncomfortable by spreading D. E. around the foundation of your house but I didn’t realize it had so many other uses. I just ordered a 50# bag and some mylar bags w/absorbers. I already have plenty of food grade buckets so it looks like I’m good to go. Oh, plenty of pickling lime also.
