Celebrating another burn out. Great. No wonder America is falling through the cracks. This guy is a pot head.

If he smoked as much as you claim, then he would not be doing as well as he is. The 200IM in my opinion is the athletic event in swimming. It is neither a distance or a sprint and requires mastery of every stroke. He won the Gold.

You both realize if you have kids, 16-early 20's there is a significant chance they are smoking pot... Pot is literally easier to buy then alcohol.

My kids have told me it's easier to buy weed in town than cigarettes for those under 18.

If Phelps wants to blow a bowl or smoke a dutch after the years of effort and sacrifice he put in, and with those results, I sure don't care!

It's funny to see all the sanctimonious pricks deriding him for a little celebration, and calling him a "burnout" and a "pothead". I'll bet they have big-ass beer guts, and couldn't dream of completing a half a lap of the pool the short way!

And more kids are smoking reefers than cigs.

Apparently pot isn't as bad for you as we thought.

I also know dozens of people who have tried pot or even maybe smoked it regularly 30 years ago. They are not felons, nor are they criminals. Most of them are regular, hard-working taxpayers who turned out fine and have raised decent right-leaning children. You seem to be awfully judgmental.

What would you have happen? Everyone who EVER smoked pot go turn themselves in and do jail time? Who would be left?

I was at a party several months back and the mom was saying how they found the son's plants out in the woods and just laughed about it.

There was a post on the 'net recently where a company did a job fair and out of 220+ applicants only 18 or 19 passed the drug test. Most walked out when told they had to take a test.

I'm not saying smoking pot is good..I did it for a while but just grew out of that stage...as do most people.

There was a Japanese PM of the same name some years ago. It was pronounced Ta-Kosh-a-Tah.
Whether naturally or by design, I couldn't say.

Ancedontal but guys I work out with have told me 75-80% of HS/post HS kids are smoking pot today or have at least tried it.

Same, I tried it at most a half dozen time in my mid teens, and didn't like it, never touched it since.

I guess I'm an evil "felon. LMAO!

If I ever found it on my kids, in their stuff or growing out back, it would be destroyed immediately, I won't allow it, but I'm not so naive to think it doesn't happen

A therapist friend who is in touch with what's going on in the schools, as well as a school administrator would agree with the 80% stat of kids trying/using weed.

Huh? What principality do you live in? Possession of pot is a misdemeanor in most places, dependent on quantity.

I’ve used pot in the past, mostly in college, but I’m not a felon. Are you saying that anyone who’s even been in the presence of pot is guilty of a felony?

I’m equating the effects of pot to alcohol, not the legality. Pot is benign compared to alcohol. That can be qualified by any number of research discussions across the web and in academic and scientific journals.

Hasn’t anybody told you yet that if you are posting spoilers, you really need to put the results down in the comment, so it doesn’t show up on the main page right under the “spoiler” alert”?

Spoiler as a word is useless, if you follow it with the results.

I don’t care, I actually find I enjoy the olympics more if I’m not concerned about who is going to win. That is, to the degree I can “enjoy” the olympics at all. Occasionally, I stumble across some event I like to watch, and then wonder why I didn’t get to watch it any other times.

Finally, we moved ahead of the ChiComs in the medal count, we should blow past them now, since they won’t do squat in Track and Field.

I salute Phelps for choosing a sports discipline with a ridiculous number of events.

There’s no reason for any stroke besides freestyle to exist at a middle school swim meet, much less the Olympics.

I’d really like a swim fan to explain to me why the 100m breast stroke is more legitimate than, say, 100m skipping or 100m Sprinting Without Moving Your Left Arm as an extra track event.

Congrats for making the top ten of stupidest posts on the internet.

Maybe if someone can be a "pothead" and win 21 gold medals at the olympics, pot shouldn't be illegal, eh? Maybe that's why the Founders grew it, used it and smoked it, too?

You think an alcoholic can win 21 gold medals? A cigarette smoker? The guy trains so hard he makes the damn weights tired. Psychologically speaking, how about comparing his "burn out" mind to an internet sneerer like yourself - you think he won those races without enough concentration and focus to crack your head open like an egg just for being too close to him?

You destroy your own argument with abject stupidity, and you're too Barney Fife to even realize it.

What a maroon.

You should be. The only reason you aren't is because you were sneaky. It is illegal. I don't do anything illegal. I have NEVER touched pot. Sad how bad some of you are on this site. Sad that you are the cause of the destruction of America. Wow....you are clearly not a conservative.
