NBC has become the centre of a race storm after airing an ad featuring a monkey performing gymnastics, right after showing the performance of Gabby Douglas, the first African-American to win Olympic gold. The network has since apologised for the advert's poor timing, explaining: 'No offense was intended.'

I’m thinking it’s the one who equated Gabby to a monkey who is the racist.
NBC ignored the opening ceremonies tribute to the London terrorist attack because it featured Christian hymns.
Gabby’s first interview after winning all-around gold was a lovely tribute to God. NBC tossed it down the memory hole. It’s still on YouTube, though.
So, is the implication that black people are really monkeys and no one is supposed to mention this and therefore, it’s a slur? That’s even worse than the juxtaposition, if that’s what people think.
If the commercial played just after Mary Lou Retton won, there would be no problem. So, why is a problem after a black girl won? Is it because some people (Liberals), deep down, believe that black people look like monkeys???
After all, only Liberals are complaining. Conservatives would never make the association. (BTW, the commercial was made BEFORE Gabby won the Gold!)
Another case in point: George Bush is compared to a monkey = no racism. Obama is compared to a monkey = racism...
Why?
