If one wanted to study geography to understand the Earth, one wouldn’t first seek the insights of a person who thought the world really didn’t exist or if it did, it could only be flat.
Likewise, if one seeks to know God, why would they seek their veritable guidance from somebody who has never known Him, ignores all beliefs in favor of atheism or perhaps agnosticism, when it is simpler to simply trust God Himself provides a way to know Him directly?
To know, or not to know; that is the question.
To know is to understand, and wishful thinking - in its essence - is not to know.
