You must always remember the backstory.
This administration, and most particularly the DHS and FBI, have labeled every USA military veteran as potentially silently suffering from PTSD.(Which is a very serious issue for some combat veterans, but by no means all of them)
It matters not to them, or the old media, whether or not a veteran was ever actually stationed in or near a combat operation.

That this murderous lowlife spent six years in a peacetime Army, 14 years ago, all of it stateside, is enough to feed the meme for their purposes.

Currently in my state, if I care to apply for a concealed carry permit, as a veteran I am not required to show proof of weapons training other than my DD214.
The current administrations dream goal is to deny all DD214 holders nationwide not just CCWs, but eventually also the “right” to buy ammo.

Cause we all might just suddenly act out on previously undiagnosed PTSD, and start murdering our neighbors...
