A new feature introduced by crowdsourcing site Quora may suggest a way for CIOs to address a problem that has long plagued business social networks: a lack of adoption by the employee population.
Quora is a site that allows users to ask questions of the other users, and to recommend the best answers, making those answers rise to the top of the page. Many users come to the site simply to read answers to questions they find interesting, while others participate more actively by answering questions. In many cases, these users are also hoping to become recognized experts in a given field.
The new feature, called Views, reveals the names of readers who have read each Quora post, and how they found it. One benefit of Views is that it helps contributors to Quora get a sense of how widely their posts are read, and how readers came to find them. As Liz Gannes at AllThingsD notes, Its another move by a social Web service to share passive activities, making the simple act of looking at a page on Quora something that other people can easily trace.

I’m no techie, but isn’t this the basic program that puts a site at the top of a search engine list ??
Hmmm...maybe the employees don’t care to talk frankly on something management could read?
