Red Dawn was cool when I was that age but now I see how unrealistic it was in that respect. While we rural kids were pretty capable in the 80s I think there would be a lot more older guys involved.

Despite a couple of serious plot flaws I think Falling Skies portrays a bit more realistic group of resistors. A military commander at the top with a civilian military experienced second in command.

The parachute scene was filmed one street away from me. The house blowing up (plane crash) was a house built specially for the film, two streets away in the other direction.

It was a blast watching all the filming excitement. Got to walk down the street and see parachutes hanging in the trees and airplane parts scattered around.

If anything this is proof that Follywood is in the extinction mode because they are degrading to the point not only in morality, but, they can't come up with new scripts that aren't junk, garbage.

I agree with this movie, script, and story line that the evil ones are the RED COMMIE CHINESE COMMUNIST.

You see ? Hollywood coming up with scripts that don't offend average America is hard to come by because they see the writing on the wall, and since they can't come up with new scripts, they have to resort to " REMAKES " of movies.

This IS a sign that Hollywood is fading away.

In reality ? it would be the Chinese who would try to invade the USA, not the Russians, the Russians feared us as much as we feared them.

When is this movie out ? hopefully well in advanced ahead of the elections so this would bring up the old and new topic of " COMMUNISM ".
This movie is coming out at just the right time for people to talk about and think about what the Commie Reds are all about.
I think most people are smart enough to put the pieces together and see that this movie is really about the COMMIE CHINESE invading the USA.

Just saw the trailer now. Seeing the invasion gave me chills.

My girlfriend is 11 years younger that me. (I am 39). We were at the movies Monday and I mentioned I wanted to see the movie. She said “I heard that was a remake. Is it?” I clearly remember seeing it in the movie theatre. Felt a little old there....
