Someone took a large knife to my front passenger tire overnight. My car is parked right off the street. I have several political bumper stickers: a pink elephant, George Washington with a teardrop running down his cheek. Sarah Palin in revolutionary garb. One that says "Our founding fathers would be shooting by now," to name a few. I live in a very liberal area in Montgomery County, outside Philadelphia.
My husband's ticked. We called the policed who'll file a report. Hubby wants me to remove the stickers but I'll be damned if I'm cowing to anyone, especially "tolerant" liberals. If it happens again, I'm not sure what I'll do.
I suggest adding a bunch of NRA stickers.
Ditto on the NRA stickers. I have reluctantly stopped putting ANYTHING on my vehicle that could be construed politically. In NE urban areas, NRA decals (or any “gun related” decals, and nowadays the Gadsen flag) WILL get you pulled over and hassled by LE. Political stickers invite vandalism or worse. I nearly lost my job once over a bumper sticker (small-town politics...a long story, not so interesting in retelling), and others I know have had cars torched or shot at.
What a sh*t situation. It sounds like the HOA is run by pansies. This LEO was outside of her jurisdiction. They could have ignored her. Perhaps a polite word with her landlord (a fellow owner) is in order?
When I was a kid in the late 70s, my dad had a huge bumper sticker on his truck that said in white letters on a red background “More people have died in Ted Kennedy’s car than in Nuclear Power Plants”. That got a few scowling looks even in a small midwestern town. I can only imagine the horror with a sticker like that in New England.
These days, A. Even if you choose not to retaliate it wouldn't end. B. It would escalate and at best be very expensive. C. LE would be on the vandal's side, not yours.
I remember reading that!
