exactly, this will be the fourth consecutive year of her not going, and precisely because, as you said, they all know each other anyway. it’s an expensive boondoggle, which we are paying for in the exorbitant tuition, whether she goes or not. There will be a senior trip which i am fairly certain that she will want to do, late in the year. Most of the private schools down here do this teambuilding horsecrap and i just do not see the need for it.
Every year? That’s ludicrous. As “freshman orientation” it’s bad enough. I didn’t go when I started college. It cost extra and I saw no need for it.
Some workshops we have even today try to do some “icebreaking” team building nonsense.
