Further, the Part D prescription-drug program in Medicare is saving taxpayers money and giving seniors better benefits. Seniors can choose the drug plan that offers them the best benefits at the lowest prices, and these smart shoppers have brought the cost of the program 42 percent lower than expected when the drug benefit was created in 2003.

The prescription drug program represents an unfunded liability of $7.2 trillion. What most people don't know is that the premiums for Medicare Parts B and D only fund 25% of the costs. By law, the remaining 75% comes from the General Fund--42% of which is borrowed money.

Hillary used to talk about providing “quality health care” via socialized medicine. But since socialism always runs out of “other people’s money,” and quickly, under socialism the first thing to give when push comes to shove is availability (i.e., wait time) and the second thing is quality. But then, wait time is quality. As Mark Steyn put it, a nine-month wait for pregnancy services actually means no pregnancy services at all. Which sounds like an exaggerated example - but he was actually referring to a case in Canada where a pregnant woman needed special attention - and there was a nine month wait-list for that kind of care.
