Monday:
9/8 -- Warehouse 13 -- SyFy
10/9 -- Alphas -- SyFy
Wednesday:
10/9 -- Futurama -- Comedy Central
I wish they hadn’t cancelled Jericho.
The SciFi channel needs to offer J. Micheal Straczinski a pile of cash to come another Babylon 5.
and they need to drop the SyFy its stupid!
Same here.
Don’t worry about FS, they’ll ruin it by doing a Freaky Friday episode, or go down the alternate time line rabbit hole like every other promising SF series.
It is trademarked and branded.
You can easily identify the channel vs the genre.
Is it a SyFy show on the channel or a SciFi show TNT?
The next big SyFy show is DEFIANCE.
Overview,
“The series is set in the near future, where aliens known collectively as Votans have come to Earth seeking a new home after their solar system was destroyed. However, when they reached Earth they discovered that despite a prolonged negotiation with the government on Earth they were not welcome. Rather than turn away, they began a war with the humans as they are determined to make Earth their new home. During the war, the Votans drop terraformers on the planet and transform the surface of the planet; scorching the earth, opening chasms in the ground and covering the surface of the planet in dust and debris. After decades of war, a ceasefire is declared when both side realise that they must focus on survival on this new almost alien planet. The series largely revolves around the character of Jeb Nolan. Jeb was only ten years old when the Votans arrived and he served in the military during the war. With the war now over, he returns to his hometown of St Louis to find that its is no longer the city he left; it is little more than a refugee camp. Deciding that his services are needed, Jeb takes up a position as the Chief Lawkeeper in Defiance, so he can protect the town from dangerous clashes between humans and aliens, military scavengers and others dangerous visitors who occasionally enter the town”
How are you able to watch Falling Skies so early? What’s your secret? :)
The new show sounds marginally interesting.
I haven't seen anything good on the SciFi Channel since Farscape. (Did you see the abortion they made of ‘Riverworld’?)
So I remain skeptical then they can do anything good and keep that stupid moniker is strike 1!
Simple, I wait 10 - 20 minutes then watch it.. That way I can bypass the commercials.. I also thought the Season Finale was neat.
Yes, but you posted at 11:30 am (my time). Even if you’re on EDT, that would mean that you posted at 2:30 pm. Does Falling Skies come on early where you live? It doesn’t come on here until 9 pm. Still waiting to watch it (Pacific time).
As for the 2nd Mass leaving Charleston, that sounded silly. Yeah, I know the reason, but it was still silly. Now, at least, they'll be reason to stay -- or to move Charleston elsewhere.
You can say SyFy is stupid til the Federation of Planets is formed but it does not make it so.
SciFi is not specific to the channel and can’t be trademarked because it has a long history and usage.
Do you think any new show is more than marginally interesting? You sound like the kind of person that thinks shows from the past are always better than shows that are coming.
I saw about 30 minutes of Riverworld before I changed the channel. Their movies and mini-series really do suck.
TV shows are much better. Alphas started ok but has improved this season. Summer Glau has a multi-episode arc this season. Guest stars include Sean Astin,Lauren Holly, Kandyse McClure(cute black chick from BSG, and Steve Byers(from Immortals) among others.
Your choice on whether to give Defiance or any show on SyFy a shot but will probably be your loss if you don’t.
That sounds like it has possibilities.
I’m just really annoyed that they give us what, 10 episodes and then we have to wait 8 months? Why have they gone to these bizarre seasons?
“...You sound like the kind of person that thinks shows from the past are always better than shows that are coming...”
I think the track record speaks for itself!
