“The GOP could easily loose the MO and MA Senate seat, most of the good work done in WI, any chance of taking Colorado, Iowa and Nevada.”
I respectfully disagree. Conservative candidates’ greatest dangers occur when the GOP establishment refuses to stand up on principle. When conservatives run as conservatives, they win. When they lose, it is due to the GOP Establishment’s cowardly (or purposeful) lack of support.
And who’s going to hear about our principles? The convention is coming up, and the media will use this Akin issue to drown out the entire convention message. A huge waste of an unique opportunity.
Nobody is asking Akin to resign due to his principles; he should resign because he is a liability to every other GOP candidate running.
His *inexcusable* lack of preparation underlines the fact that he is a bad candidate. After all, what conservative politician isn’t aware that the media will try to trip him up on the most controversial social issue of our time, and prepares for it accordingly?
This was a careless, self-inflicted wound. He is already a casualty by his own careless hand. He should not be allowed to create more GOP casualties during the most crucial election in our history!
I understand how you feel but this is very dangerous.
We are risking everything the Tea Party has accomplished since 08 on this idiot who can’t control is mouth or ego.
I was funding a House candidate in Oregon in ‘10 who had great strength and message. The first debate he showed up with an attitude and ended everything.
This has nothing to do with the GOP establishment. It has to do with as the Tea Party continues to grow, are we going to replace old broken down idiots with younger idiots.
