Morris has been saying for months now that Obama is going to lose and lose big due to his horrible record. So why is he now attributing it to a blunder?
His blunder is pretty obvious. Plunking all of his chips down on Obamacare, which almost nobody likes (not even the Libs, as they are truly Single Payer fans at heart) when the country wanted him to focus on the economy.
Not that his Marxist prescriptions would have fixed the economy, but the perception was created that he was ignoring it in order to push the all-too-unpopular health plan.
He wrote and published a whole book in 2007 dedicated to the 2008 presidential race between Condi Rice and Hillary Clinton. When Morris appears on Bill O’Reilly’s it's not so much about political commentary as it is about entertainment. Broadcast journalism is show biz costumed as news.
Morris’ point is the polls aren’t really moving despite big tv buys (basically tied in registered voters, slight lead for Romney in likely voters) and Obama is playing a turnout game. He’s trying to get his base back to 08 levels by moving left and attacking Romney. Morris says the attacks aren’t really having much effect because Romney is never going to scare a majority of American Voters like say a Newt would have.
The blunder, in Morris’ view, is Obama should have returned to hope&change generalities and reminded people why they liked him in the first place.
