It’s not about the animal so much as it is a story about people with compassion for animals (the rescuers not the perpetrators). Sure, it’s just a freakin turtle, but there are people out there with hearts just the same.

Probably some of the posters here giving the turtle abusers a pass would scream bloody murder if a cop shot a dog.
The idea is that they are all living creatures. I happen to be a reptile fan and to me this turtle is just as important as my dog or my cat are. Just because you don’t see value in the life of the animal doesn’t mean it’s OK to torture it.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not an animal rights clown, but I don’t believe any living thing should become amusement for some stupid idiots fun time.
Anyone who did this to an animal would have no problem with doing the same to a human. This is the mentality that drives the pro-aborts.
