No. I come from a law enforcement family and that is simply not true. Others here have also pointed out that while they are required to be certifided every year or two, their range time is on their own dime and time. Local LEs can't afford giving their employees that much ammo. Even the state doesn't. The state's certification consists of having the class go out on the range one afternoon every couple years where they practice a few minutes and then take turns qualifying on two weapons. It's mostly sit down and wait your turn and then leave early when you're finished.

Around here the standard is between 100 - 200 rds per month minimum, depending upon which agency you look at.

That is on top of about 5,000-10,000 rds to train a new guy.

If .gov envisions a big push to train new agents basic math shows they are going to go through a bunch of ammo pretty quick. Another big ammo drain is stockpiling. The Government loves to maintain stores of ammo and most of the stores were depleted during the ammo shortage so a lot of that is going to go into a black hole warehouse.
