Never ceases to amaze that people are surprised when catering to the vast majority turns out to be profitable. Who’d have thunk it?

That’s excellent news! My wife and I watched the first episode with our kids last week, and we all loved it!
Glenn Beck has been promoting it too, so it is no surprise it has been such a ratings hit, it is good indicator that Beck has become a “Media Powerhouse” that can only grow bigger and better.
The wife and I watched it. It was a little slowly paced, but over all we enjoyed it.
I watched it this week, and thought it was a pretty good show.
Recently GSN has added the game to its Facebook of games. I’ve been playing it.
And think of all the spinoffs, like Trivial Pursuit! Bible Challenge: Liberal Edition, Bible Challenge: Homosexual Edition, etc. - it’s a franchise! /sarc
I also felt I could do without so much of the human interest angle, but I suppose some folks like that aspect.
It was the game show designed with the average Evangelical in mind.
I agree, though our kids were a bit more challenged than myself or my wife. It was a good evaluation of what they've learned in Catechism the past few years.
Hmm. That's interesting. I would think the average Evangelical would know the Bible better than that.
The game show series, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, drew 1.7 million viewers for its 8 p.m.
It has a long way to go to beat NCIS. lol. Good that it has a million watching. Keep going.
The average evangelical knows about a dozen or so 'canned" verses and what ever their particular pastor likes to focus on. Catholics on the other hand get an OT reading, a Psalm, a NT reading and then the Gospel. Which is supposed to be followed by a homily tying them together. We hear the entire Bible in a three year cycle. The average Catholic has both a broader and deeper exposure, but that does not mean that all of us retain that knowledge.
So at 1.7 million viewers being their best ever how do they stay in business?
Cheap to produce and pretty profitable even with lower ad rates. For a cable show, 1.7 million is a good number. MSNBC/ CNBC would kill for those numbers.
