I'm sorry your old dog is nearing the end. It is so hard to see them suffer. We lost two of my favorite dogs in the past 10 months. They were both over 13 and big dogs, which is a long life for a large breed. Our current dogs were both rescues, which means we deal with a lot of issues from their previous experiences. So they have been a lot more work. One is very sweet and my shadow, the other, well, he is still trying to play with kill the cat on a daily basis.

Apparently, Mastiffs are the new dog-du-jour in this neighborhood-I was hiking in the woods this morning, and met a guy on the trail who was walking a gray, very friendly huge one. He said it is a Neopolitan Mastiff and only 8 months old-it already probably weighs almost as much as I do. That is the 4th Mastiff of some sort I’ve seen recently in this little neighborhood...
