bgill, there’s a difference between anchor babies born to Mexican citizens and babies born outside the U.S. to U.S. citizens, who are, by any definition, U.S. citizens.

You could make the argument that George Romney, born a citizen but on Mexican soil, was not natural-born, but he was by any measure a U.S. citizen living in Mexico. There are those who hold that place of birth is as important as inherited citizenship of the parents in determining “natural-born” status, but not in determining citizenship. George Romney was a U.S. citizen from birth, due to his parents’ citizenship.

However, that argument is simply a full generation removed from Mitt Romney. He was born on U.S. soil to two U.S.citizens.

Totally different case from George Romney and totally different from Obama.
