Don’t knock it. I make a nice honeyed ale that my wife likes. Just remember that honey = sugar = alcohol.

I had a bad experience with Shiner beer.

One night while were out in the boonies (Texas), and looking for women and free booze, since we never had money at that age, we stumbled onto a big Texas bar, we naturally figured out some way to get in free, (we may have rolled hand stamps with people who paid), when we went in, it was Wet T-Shirt Night and all you could drink beer for free.

Unfortunately the beer was Shiner, it may have been a heavy beer, and in our youth we didn't have that taste yet, but what a bummer, we had to force ourselves to choke it down.

“Real men drink Pabst”

Been drinking it since college. Don’t care what the beer snobs say, it’s a good beer.

I like Lone Star. The bottle caps are fun too.

Pabst used to be on tap at bars around the Texas, Oklahoma, area and such places, that was back in the 1960s or so.

I was kidding, while I love the name, I never liked Lone Star, and I tried, as a Texan I made a serious effort, but it was a no go.

If anyone here is old enough, I wonder if they remember when Miller tried a lime flavored beer around 1970, in Houston.

I really liked it and was vindicated when lime beer returned in recent years.

I found the Youtube video from History about the history of beer. Along with Pabst came along the German invasion of brewers like Miller, Budweiser etc who settled into America. Sure, I heard the jokes about it being a redneck beer, but it works for me and that was what I gave girls when they came into my university dorm..:)

There is nothing wrong with giving girls Pabst beer, or 180 proof in pink lemonade, or Southern Comfort with 7-Up, as long as your intentions are noble.

In reality, Obama is drinking some truly exceptional beer, the kind of beer that is a revelation to most of us.

The guys who have lived in Germany, know what I am talking about, especially the ones that remember the America of pre-small breweries.

I have always liked it, it is not bad for a low priced beer.

While I have no doubt Obama swings that way, what’s wrong with microbrews? I happen to love Sam Adam’s Cream Stout.
