I just think 4 years is a very low bar hardly worth going back to. If we really want to make a better America we need to go back a hell of a lot further than to the America of 4 years ago.
As far as the cold war is concerned, I’m not sure what difference it makes aside from the fact that we didn’t have troops dying in a middle eastern kitty litter box.
For me, the question of whether I’m better off than I was four years ago doesn’t seem quite so relevant when I know what the Obamastration has had up its sleeve and now that the genie is out of the bottle, so to speak, the bigger picture is coming into focus.
Mutually Assured Destruction or Obamaism? The question of “How’s that working out for ya?” seems relevant either way except for the fact that the Soviet Union is history.
On the other hand, here we are a generation later where nothing is still unthinkable but this threat was far from being unthinkable even 60 years ago and what’s worse is that WE let it happen. Not to mention the opposition’s willingness and ability to deceive and betray.
