I guess they never watched the Pink Panther strikes again??

Housekeeper: You’ve ruined that piano!
Clouseau: What is the price of one piano, compared to the terrible crime that has been committed here
Housekeeper: But that’s a priceless Steinway!
Clouseau: Nyot Anymeur.

I don’t know what you gave me, Doctor...

but it’s giving me hallucinations.

Your whole face has changed.

It has?

How’s this?

Grotesque!

We just got word, boss. Clouseau is still alive.

I knew it.

He has pulled the wrong tooth.

There’s only one man who would pull the wrong tooth.

It’s Clouseau.

Kill him.

Oh stewardess! I speak jive.

And of course all of the captain's inappropriate questions for Joey.

There was a TB Movie of the week made back in the 70's called "Terror In The Sky" with Doug McClure and Roddy McDowell. Both are based on the Arthur Hailey novel "Runway Zero-Eight"

Actually, its not that bad....

“I literally, and I mean literally could not could not catch my breath for a full 30 seconds I laughed so hard and was starting to panic a little bit.”

Ditto! Quite possibly the funniest comedy line ever!

I agree, “Young Frankenstein” was really good.

The scene with him and the monster dancing to “Putting on the Ritz” was hilarious. Especially when all the audience began throwing vegetables at them as if they had thought to bring them.

Strange Brew

"If I didn't have puke breath I'd kiss ya" is the only line I remember from that film. It was funny but not even close to Airplane. The story of how SCTV came up with the Great White North beer swilling "hoser" McKenzie Brothers bit in order to meet government requirements for Canadian content on TV up north tells one a lot about Canada and Canadians. But a favorite part of SCTV, as it is for many Freepers, the Farm Film Report.

"May the Good Lord take a likin' to ya and blow ya up real good!"

I think that was Kurt Russel's non-Disney film. Jack Warden was great, as was "Grampa Munster" as the judge!

Ya know, we all do a lot of nervous social laughing. But an honest, you can’t help it, belly laugh is a pretty rare thing.

Headline: "Passengers Certain To Die"
Headline: "Airline Negligent"
Johnny: "There's a sale at Penney's!"

Funniest lines ever, IMO.

I think it may have been to cynical for the time. I bet if they did a re-release it would do pretty well today.

Funny, it was there last time I saw it on TV a couple of months ago.

Must be a Murrican thing.

The list is a joke...right?

Now that's funny!

Seriously, Airplane was as good as any and better than most.

Wilder’s “One Two Three” is much funnier than Some Like It Hot.

The same guys who did Airplane! did one of the most underrated comedies ever, “Top Secret!”

Hillary Flammond: My uncle was born in America.
Nick Rivers: Oh, really?
Hillary Flammond: But he was one of the lucky ones. He managed to escape in a balloon during the Jimmy Carter presidency.

Hillary Flammond: I know a little German. He’s sitting over there.

[the East German national anthem]
All: Hail, hail East Germany / Land of fruit and grape / Land where you’ll regret / If you try to escape / No matter if you tunnel under or take a running jump at the wall / Forget it, the guards will kill you, if the electrified fence doesn’t first.

Hillary Flammond: Who do you favor in the Virginia Slims tournament?
Blindman: In women’s tennis, I always root against the heterosexual.

Agent Cedric: Wait. You dropped your phony dog poo.
Blindman: What phony dog poo?

Colonel von Horst: [reporting on Nick’s interrogation] They’re still working on him. He won’t break. We’ve tried everything! Do you want me to bring out the Leroy Nieman paintings?
General Streck, German High Command: No. We cannot risk violating the Geneva Convention!

General Streck, German High Command: [talking on the phone] What is the condition of Sergeant Kruger?
[pause]
General Streck, German High Command: Very well, let me know if there is any change in his condition.
[Hangs up]
General Streck, German High Command: He’s dead.

They want you up in the cockpit right away!
The cockpit, what is it?
It's that little room in the front of the plane, but that's not important now.......
