News about the terrorist acts in Egypt and Libya are hard to keep up with. Were learning more of the horror every hour. It seems that all that this administration and his supporters in the media can do is apologize for the United States and blame America for the assaults. Weve seen this before.
Jimmy Carters presidency was defined by the word malaise. It was a succinct summary of all that went wrong. But if there was one event that expressed the utter failure of Carters four years in office; it was the capture of the United States Embassy in Iran and the taking of hostages for 444 days. A failed ill-conceived rescue mission didnt help.
[S]ome political analysts believe the crisis was a major reason for U.S. President Jimmy Carters defeat in the November 1980 presidential election.
To add insult to injury, as President Ronald Reagan was being sworn in, the hostages were leaving Iran by plane. The Iranians were afraid of what Ronald Reagan might do.
Reagans handling of PATCO, the air traffic controllers union, may have contributed to the fall of the former Soviet Union. The striking controllers thought there was no way that Reagan would fire the union workers. In 1981, Reagan gave them a deadline, and he stuck to it. He replaced every worker who failed to be on the job on the deadline day. He broke the union. The voters were happy to see it go.
This decisiveness on the part of Reagan shook up the Kremlin, and the rest is history. Reagan came across as a no nonsense political leader who was willing to risk the ire of public service unions across the country. The Communist leadership knew how powerful unions were in 1980, and Reagan still took them on. The Communists respected boldness and feared decisive leadership.
Now we come to the 11th anniversary of the attacks by radical Muslims on our country. Reuters reports that The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three embassy staff were killed in an attack on the Benghazi consulate and a safe house refuge. Incidents like this are only blood in the water for Muslim extremists.
All that Hillary Clinton could say was the attack was done by a small and savage group not the government or people of Libya. Until the people and the government step in to stop the radicals, theyre all culpable. When will the so-called moderates speak up and march in the streets against the crazies?
The attack of an embassy is an attack on the nation that the embassy represents. Its as if a part of American soil had been transported to a foreign nation. To attack an embassy is to attack America. Its an act of war. In fact, a reporter asked the President if the incidents were acts of war. All the reporter got was silence and the presidents back as he walked back into the White House with Secretary of State Clinton.
This incident and others like it have happened after President Obama traveled to Egypt in 2008 and gave what was touted as a speech for the ages. Finally, things would be different between the Muslim world and the United States. Not a chance. The newly established Muslim Brotherhood perceives the United States to be weak and submissive.
And what was the supposed catalyst for the attacks in Egypt and Libya?
A movie attacking Islams prophet Muhammad sparked assaults on U.S. diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt on Tuesday. A Libyan security official reported an American was shot to death as protesters burned the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, and in Cairo, protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy walls and replaced an American flag with an Islamic banner.
These radicals dont need a reason. They only need to know that whatever reason they give the media will end up blaming the United States.
Did you notice how our State Department wrote that its wrong to hurt the religious beliefs of others? Im amazed how sensitive our government is to the religious sensibilities of Muslims who want to destroy us while it continually attacks peaceful Christians in the United States.
You may recall that when President Obama spoke at Georgetown University, he ordered that a monogram symbolizing Jesus name be covered when he delivered his speech.
YES, with the same results in November. Right now Zero is in a state of complete confusion. His "Above My Pay Grade" was never more approriate.
Where is that 2008 campaign video, where he completely lost his thought and stumbled and mumbled around and laughed it off. (hope someone knows which one I mean).
Not to mention Greece is imploding. Can we say what’s left of US interests in the Eastern Med, let alone the ME is going down the tubes?
Jimmy Carter “moment”?? More like a Jimmy Carter presidency...
i’m surprised more aren’t talking about the fact obama sent a general to see pastor jones in Florida to ask jones to pull his support for a film....
in 1980 carter had no answer for the Russians in Afghanistan- his ultimate response was to punish American amateur athletes by boycotting the summer games in Russia and denying American athletes the life long dream which they worked for....
in 2012 obama has no answer for radical islam- his ultimate response is to ask American(s) to forsake their rights of free speech and freedom of expression which many have worked and died to preserve...

I’m here to tell you it was a major reason I stood in the long voting line to vote the SOB out of office. He embarrassed this country to the rest of the world, like BHO does.
The hostages were freed as soon as Reagan became POTUS.
I saw Reagan say to a reporter who asked him what he would do to clear the hostage situation if he was POTUS, Reagan said, “Those people are barbarians and will be treated as such.” Pretty clear. Here are your hostages Mr. Reagan.
The attacks in Cairo and Libya has folks talking about Bozo’s “Jimmy Carter Moment”. I’m more worried about his “Adolph Hitler Moment”, as a war over there will allow him his Reichstag Fire when the muzzy cells here get their orders from over there (OR THE WHITE HOUSE!) to activate, and blame it on “them”. Can you imagine a more perfect opportunity to declare martial law, suspend the election if half a dozen dirty nukes go off in as many cities? The 48% of the population supporting Bozo will be joined by a large portion of those who should know better in the call for him to “restore order.” And restore order he will and the America we all knew and loved growing up will not even be a footnote in the new, improved history books.
CNN, FNC, and MSNBC are protecting Obama.
no jimmy carter moment. the MSM will not even mention jimmy carter or 1978.
THOUGH the fact the ambassador was raped before murdered is simply horrific and compounded by obama’s know it all response. (remember Obama is not stupid, he is very calculating)
He’s not good at calculating he knows no matter how bad he screws up the media will lie and cover up for him.
Soon the media will feel the heat.
Two words: Black Swan.
It is a matter of due diligence that Obama fire Hillary Clinton. Americans have been murdered in a foreign land. An American Ambassador has been murdered and sexually assaulted. It is only proper leadership and management that Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State be fired for this egregious debacle.
Of course if the protests and attacks continue too long in the Middle East, he might have to do something. It will depend on the polls.
Moment?
The last 3+ years have been a Jimmy Carter “Moment”.
He's had multiple such moments. Just like Jimmy, the polls are trying prop him up. Hopefully, just like Jimmy, the People will give him a resounding order to vacate the White House.
i hope beck’s tv effort hits them. has anyone seen his chanel 212?
