CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. School district leaders have delayed moving a controversial Ten Commandments display outside a junior high school indefinitely.
Board members said it will stay put, and they are looking at all of their options to determine how to move forward.
The monument is outside the Connellsville Area Junior High School. A student's parent and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State have each asked the district to take down the monument.
In a statement, the group said the First Amendment gives parents the right to tell their children what religion to choose and not public schools.
In a show of support for the school, a Connellsville businessman is putting visual reminders around town in hopes of reminding people to not give up the fight.

It’s time we start an organization that forces government entities to jettison all activities that support the religion of atheism.
Simple solution to that issue.......sell the ground where the Commandments are sitting on. The land would be “Private Property” thereafter.
We have a nice city near us where a small park has a statue of Jesus.....Numerous attempts were made to have the city take the statue out.......City sold the small park to a private individual...The statue and park still stand to this day. I loved the outcome.
Since there are 30,000 - 40,000 Christian denominations and three major Jewish sects all of which honor the Decalogue, this monument obviously does not represent a particular religion. As such it cannot be deemed to be a violation of the first amendment. I am certain some weasel will be happy to point out my error.
Give me a break. It sure looks like the parent and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are going out of their way to pick a fight. It's not like it's in the middle of the school lobby or something. It's sitting next to a parking lot and has been there 55 years, apparently without seriously corrupting the youth of the city. Leave it alone.
Tell them you will remove your 10 Commandments when the Supereme Court removes the one hanging in there courtroom.
Dumbasses.

- - -a complaint from an anonymous parent( a taxpayer, a contributing member of the community???) thru an atheist organization in Wisconsin, thru a 2nd rate attorney in Pittsburgh(60 miles away) intending to change the rules in this small peaceful town in Penna is WRONG!! May GOD help us all. The simple and few rules of life outlined on this rock have guided mankind for thousands of years. The worst student behavior exhibited at the time this memorial was erected was gum chewing and running in the halls-—I know because I was a student there at the time.
