Wilkinsburg is a suburb of Pittsburgh, a very hilly area. There are places where you can commit suicide by jumping out a basement window. I kid you not.

The locals call Wilkinsburg "We'll-kill-yinz-burg" as it is not considered a very desirable area. My cousin and his wife were going to grad school at Pitt and managed to rent an apartment with about twice the space for less money just two blocks away from Braddock Street which is the eastern boundary between Pittsburgh and Wilkinsburg. Such is its reputation even in the areas of the burb considered relatively safe.

When I was a kid I had a job cutting grass for a local real estate developer. When they sent us to one particular house they described the lot as "you can stand at the edge of the front yard and take a p*ss on the roof". Always counted my fingers and toes when we wrapped-up there.
