“Touche” is not a word for pirates. ;-)

I’ve always thought that this is the funniest pirate joke:

A pirate returns from a year at sea, and goes into his favorite tavern. The bartender notices that the pirate is now sporting a wooden leg, a hook (in place of an arm,) and a patch over one eye.

“What happened to your leg?” asked the bartender.
“Cannonball nailed me. But this pegleg works just fine.”
“What about the arm?”
“Sword fight. But the hook works okay.”
“And your eye?”
“A sea gull crapped in it?”
“Wait—you lost an eye to bird poop?”
“Well, it was my first day with the hook.”

Going to use that joke at squad training tonight. EMTs love that stuff.

Oh that was funny...... needing to start the day laughing. My daughter had a wreck yesterday...well, some foreigner rammed into the back of her at a red light. She’s ok (my daughter, not the fat stupid foreigner) - but car is demolished. I’m thankful and angry at the same time.

LOLOLOL! I’m galvanized against bribery too! However, you deserve an extra + yourself for introducing a word that we actually use in real life!

Glad your daughter is all right. Is Obama
going to prosecute her for stopping at a red light and
thus impeding the progress of a foreigner?

By the way, love your tag line.

Good question - The husband arrived and seemed more concerned about not getting to choose his own tow company instead of the vultures who were already on scene. I didn't care - the car is totaled and I just wanted it off the road.

Any advice on handling this? Do we contact an attorney or just deal with insurance company? The car was just paid off in July and I hate for her to have a car payment now. We are fairly confident that this woman never hit her brakes - no skid marks and my daughter never heard anything before being hit - she would have looked up if she had heard someone skidding. So this woman may have been dialing a phone or reading something - since even the sunglasses flew off my daughters head it seems unlikely this woman's cell phone wouldn't have flown and it was "quickly" in her hand

A foreigner? Like a Swede or a Norwegian?

Accidents suck. I oughta know, I’v been in enough of them. My wife was rear-ended at a red light once. Same kind of thing, the guy never stopped.

Insurance should pay you for the value of the car. I don’t know if a lawyer is going to get you anything. I guess it depends on if you think the foreigner has anything worth going after.

If she was distracted by reading a text or making a call I would think she might be liable for "pain and suffering" - my daughter is lucky she wasn't injured beyond what we are currently aware of. She has wedding photos in a week so we are thankful she didn't smack her face on the steering column

Af far as what region of foreign persuasion, think a little farther south and east of your selected area

Is there a law against texting in Texas? Was the driver cited?

That would help a lot. Otherwise, it could be hard to prove exactly why the other driver hit your daughter.

On a completely different topic, I’m listening to the recent Beach Boys’ album: “That’s Why God Made The Radio,” which I recommend without hesitation. Brian Wilson and whoever else he’s got singing with him bring back the early 60s all over again. I feel like getting the surfboard and putting it on top of my woody and going down to the beach. Except that I don’t surf and, at my age, if I get a woody I’m certainly not going to put a surfboard on top of it. Plus, the nearest beach is about 60 miles away.

Lewinsky will also detail pain of ending pregnancy during scandal

Whose baby? Did she abort a Clinton baby? Cause that would be a bombshell.
