AS II ping
Are they going to lose another 15 million?
Its a shame the actors etc will be different etc... Yes the first one was low budget, and I’m sure this one will be too, but I thought it was a reasonable adaptation.
I HATE theaters, but I’ll go in support of this movie.
“Are they going to lose another 15 million?”
Where did you get that number?
i’m surprised they made the second half, the first was pretty bad. unless you read the book, you had no idea what everybody was on about, and the characters were never developed.
that said, i intend to see the sequel anyway.
Any word on a Canadian release date? Part 1 took six months to get here; it was on DVD before it hit the big screen.
Rand’s book was in three parts as is the plan for the movie series.
Excellent! It’s playing in my town. We won’t have to travel 90 miles like we did for Part I.
There is a place on the AS web site to “demand it” ...

Select Canada and type in your town.
Correct on all counts.
As to the money lost on Part I, they reduced their losses through merchandise sales. The article I read said they were stunned at the large volume.
I like the polos on proudproducers.com...I've purchased 5-6, and I get a lot of quizzical looks at work.
I also spent $50 on a promo pack from the movie's website. I was supposed to receive 5 t-shirts, they sent me 10. They are on prominent display in a few offices on my floor...lol.
When I cross paths with a number of folks, they ask me "Who is John Galt?".
The trailer is great...I'm looking forward to the movie adaptation of Hank Rearden's trial.
That was domestic box office. What did they make on foreign box office and dvd sales and other income? Maybe they were able to eke out a profit.

Sounds right to me, as evidence we now have AS II with a new and recognizable cast playing in more theaters in more towns than AS I release.
hoo boigh. three parts. i had forgotten....oh well, so i’ll go see BOTH remaining parts;-)
Saw it today. Well done.
You may want to ping your AS list again as a reminder of the movie premiere and to stimulate more review comments. I really want it to be successful so Part III will be produced and released.
p.s.
That’s a real depressing tag line you got there.
I was pleased to see character actors Robert Picardo (as Stadler), Ray Wise (Thompson), and my old La Crescenta neighbor Michael Gross (board member) in the film, donating their salaries. John Rubinstein (Ferris) is starting to look like his famous father, the classical pianist.
