I just heard Friday’s morning replay of the 9a-12p Chris Plante Show on WMAL, and he said one or two of the four murdered Americans in Benghazi, were lynched. Anyone know if that’s confirmed? I haven’t read anything about the other 3 murders, other than Amb Stevens.

I was wondering the same thing earlier when I read about the SEALs who died trying to hold off the mob. If they were armed, I’m sure even just two SEALs could take quite a few of the bastards with them before they were overcome.

Been thinking about that also. If two ex SEALS were armed, they would not have died without putting up a ferocious defense. There is a lot more to this story and many inconvenient facts that are being omitted from the ever evolving official version. Could those SEALS have been ordered to surrender ala Tehran without a fight and then murdered? Were they put in a bizarre untenable position by State Department directives? Doubt the truth will come out before the election, if ever.

It is shocking there is such a lack of details. After all, the entire consulate staff could have murdered or captured, and this was a major attack by a well armed Al Qaeda group.

Somebody present at the time must know what went on. Was there a big gun battle? What happened in those 5 missing hours before the cavalry arrived? How did most escape with their lives? How were the other 3 murdered?

Good question.

U.S. consulate in Benghazi was light on security

Ive been wondering about that as well. I can’t imagine two armed Navy Seals would not have taken out quite a few. My guess is they were not armed.

My son has a Libyan friend whose mother was in Benghazi when the attack occurred. She said ten Libyans died, but whether these were security guards or militia isn’t known.

I’ll bet the other embassies in Libya know something. Maybe we should read the British papers, that is what I am going to do right now.

Have the FBI agents assigned to investigate the deaths even been able to get into Libya because of the volatile security situation ?

I have a difficult time conjuring up pictures of FBI agents trumping through the streets of Benghazi, with their blue jackets with the initials on the back doing any real investigating. They’d have to have interpreters with them. Better just to go in with a tank battalion, crush the houses, bury the rubble right there then salt the earth. They’re not that far from Carthage.

Given the release of these photos of the Ambassador's demise, it's clear there are other images with details of the attack recorded via cell phones which are visible in the photos.

I'm surprised that no apparent attempts have been made to ressurect these images, which no doubt have been posted and boasted about in Libyan/al qaeda forums on the web.

They would have been authorized because the attack was on American territory. There is an ongoing investigation from news footage or whatever but the FBI doesn’t mean anything over there so for the time being it is the president of Libya that is essentially keeping them out.
