I was going to make a comment, but it’s apparently an option of the student to take. Paddle or suspension.


The option goes even farther in that the parents can choose to opt out of any corporal punishment via a notice to the School each year. Apparently the parents didn’t choose the ‘opt out’.

The mother's point was that the corporal punishment was supposed to be delivered by a female by virtue of stated district policy. The vice principal violated that policy by administering it himself -- and left welts and blisters.

The vp broke the rules in punishing her for breaking the rules.
