I like American made guns from American made parts with profits going to Americans. How about a Smith&Wesson M&P? You can chose from the highly compact 9c or Shield lines, full size which are still concealable in 9mm, .40 and .45. The M&P line of autoloaders are typically more accurate than a glock, they don't have polygonal rifling so you can shoot lead, and the stock trigger (while crap compared to a 1911) is as good as a glock. With some work the trigger can become very nice.
I'm in the process of getting rid of some glocks and sigs to replace them with S&Ws so I'm biased.
