"I'm sorry."
Yes, he certainly is.
“I deplore that video but there’s nothing we can do about it. Now, we’re working on this problem we have with free speech, but I need more time. Once I’m reelected I’ll have more flexibility.”
Drinking Game phrase:
“The Prophet Mohammed”
“I’m sorry white American Christians have disrespected and abused you for so many decades. Believe me, I’m putting the screws to them now” - The President
I am a poser.
Im sorry white American Christians have disrespected and abused you for so many decades. Believe me, Im putting the screws to them now - The President
“... as soon as this bothersome election is over.”
I wish somebody would take one of those paintings of the Battle of Lepanto, and put “We’re Sorry!” on the sails of the Europeans’ ships.
U.S.A. = United States of Apologies ,,,,,
I don’t know why he’s even bothering, other than to gratify his own massively-over-inflated ego. And maybe to get some love since he’s alienated most of the American population.
As we move forward as a community of nations towards the future, we cannot let the mistakes of the past bind us or hold us down. Our American sins have been varied and numerous. We cannot atone for the shortsightedness, the arrogance, the incompetence or the moral indifference of Administrations before us but we can express the regrets all thinking Americans feel upon reflection of this record. The enticement of oil riches, or the racism that lies at the heart of the pseudo-colonialism of corporate profiteering drove these previous Administrations in ways that are justly and rightly still resented to this day and for this, and any other transgressions against the almighty prophet Mohammed (all peace and blessings be upon him), I stand before you today and supplicate myself to beg your forgiveness on behalf of our piteous and unrighteous nation.
Then the NY Times will write an editorial praising his rhetoric and demanding his reelection as a rebuke against the xenophobes and racists who denounced the speech.
Nicely done. And yet one reasonably expects that Obama will manage to incorporate the first-person singular pronoun into his speech many more times than just one.
BINGO
