For the uninitiated, Blender is an open-source, completely free 3D modeling, animation, rendering, and compositing program. The Blender Foundation does these open movies to drive development of Blender in order to meet the needs of real-world CG projects.

Their last project was "Sintel", which was highly acclaimed (the director now works for Pixar as a direct result of his work on "Sintel"). Before that, "Big Buck Bunny".

Enjoy!

Me too. I can’t tell if this one was a comedy or a dramedy or something else. “Sintel” and “Big Buck Bunny” were, tonally, much easier to take in.

However, given that “Tears of Steel”’s development drove the creation of the new camera tracker and some great improvements in the Cycles renderer and the new compositing engine, I’m willing to give it a pass!
