I can't believe that I'm on FreeRepublic right now. I really can't. If this kind of whining, muddled thinking is what passes for conservative thinking, we're beyond done. To get on a FreeRepublic thread and see members being chastised for objecting to our ridiculous welfare system is beyond belief. Either you guys are trolls, or we are truly and utterly screwed.

I don't know what is the matter with this thread. It does look like a lot of the typical name-calling leftists. "Ignorant B" is a nice Christian thing to call others. Exactly. We had day-old lots of things here in the U.S., and looked for change on the sidewalk or good transfer tickets to make it the stores, if we (kids) couldn’t walk there. But it upset people greatly upon the suggestion that if they are taking taxpayer money, they should be handed out rice and bean rations at a warehouse.

I’m first-generation American — my parents and grandparents escaped Stalin (and later Hitler). The sniveling takers on this thread haven’t seen as much as they think they have.

There are more ways than a few to work under the table for cash and still get food stamps (if they work at all). There are also more ways than a few to get unemployment, disability, etc. and these leeches know how to do it. They may not know (or want to know) how to get a job but they are experts at getting “FREE” stuff!

Many of them have four and five “FREE” phones just by using more than one name. There is nothing they won’t do for “FREE” stuff. I know that for a fact!
