In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

strepitous \STREP-i-tuhs\, adjective
boisterous; noisy.

Example sentences:
But what strepitous sounds, what harmonious tumult diverts my attention to another part ?
-- José Francisco de Isla, The History of the Famous Preacher, Friar Gerund de Campazas

Here is no idyllic meditative retreat from the strepitous city but a scene of virile action—fields sounding with human labor, vibrating with human energy.
-- Beulah B. Amram, "Swinburne and Carducci," The Yale Review

Etymology:
Strepitous stems from the Latin word strepit which meant "noise."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Thank you!

My favoriute smackdown was when O was ranting on about jobs going overseas and Romney gave him a look and said I’ve been in business for 25 years and I have no idea what you are talking about.

Fact checkers are claiming Romney was wrong on that issue. I am not automatically believing them.

Wouldn't her bio be more likely to be accurate than Wiki? Also, this is brewing.

A couple of thoughts. Obama’s bio stated he was born in Kenya, before he was born in Hawaii. As for the donor scandal, they had the same thing in the last election. Didn’t bother him then.
