81 Jobs Per Day, Per State. That's The "Obama Recovery."

Let’s get serious about the jobless rate here for just a minute.

Number of “new jobs created” in September: 114,000

Number of first-time jobless claims in September: 367,000 (Week ending Sept. 28th)

The average weekly first time jobless claims in September averaged over 360,000 which means in September, 1,440,000 people lost their jobs and had to find a new one.

Does it stand to reason to anyone with a functioning brain that the unemployment rate could “drop” three-tenths of a percent with those numbers?

It’s mathematically impossible!

UNLESS YOU STOP COUNTING THOSE WHO’VE FALLEN OFF THE ROLLS, THOSE WHO’VE GIVEN UP LOOKING AND FOUND A WAY TO SHRINK THE LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE!

A look at the Labor Force Participation Rate tells the TRUE STORY behind the 7.8% number. Our economy is at an ALL TIME LOW in the percentage of working age adults that have full-time employment.

Since January of 2009, the Labor Force Participation Rate which the Bureau of Labor Statistics maintains shows that the rate has steadily declined under Obama!

Under Obama, the Labor Force Participation Rate, which was at record high’s under Bush have fallen to historic lows under Obama!

Who’s to blame for that? Obama and his FAILED ECONOMIC POLICIES, THAT”S WHO!

I think most American’s with a reasonably functioning brain, capable of doing basic math can see how Obama’s been DESTROYING our economy and driving people out of the work force to artificially deflate the unemployment numbers!

Great spin, if one can pull it off – but the DATA shows Obama and his policies to be an abysmal failure.

Now here’s the truth about the stellar “job creation” the Associated Pravda (I meant “Press”) is telling about the economy:

It's now being reported that the economy created 114,000 jobs.

That's 114,000 across all 50 states.

That's 2,280 jobs per state. (114,000 / 50)

That's 570 jobs per week, per state. (2280 / 4 weeks)

What does that mean for the average job seeker? There are only 81 jobs per day, per state are being created under the Obama economy.

Yeah, I guess I don't blame Obama for not wanting to talk about the economy during the debate the other night!

And Rush just said this on the air as I was posting! Thank you RUSH!!!

Now say it's 81 JOBS PER DAY, PER STATE .... THIS IS NOT A RECOVERY!

The declining participation rate, coupled with the persistently high unemployment rate, is actually very depressing.

I’m not sure why the parades are beling planned to celebrate today’s numbers.

242 million people were employed on Barry’s first day....243 million are employed today. Not exactly keeping up with the population growth.

I’d like to exactly which states are doing the hiring. My guess is it’s the Republican led states. This is a golden opportunity for R/R.

I had posted the above with all the BLS charts on my personal blog this morning right after the jobs report came out and have been listening to the local talk-radio here in the Chicago market this morning.

NOT ONE of them picked up on the record-low labor force participation rate, which just infuriated me.

I was posting the above right as Rush came on the air and said the exact same thing about the labor force participation rate and literally jumped for joy that someone else (Rush) had the same facts firmly in hand and was ready to talk about it.

Unfortunately, this TRUTH is likely only to be told in two places: Rush Limbaugh's radio show, and here on FR.

THAT'S DEPRESSING.

I do still think that the Romney-Ryan campaign ought to pick up on the FACT that today's numbers really aren't that great and break it down for the average American to understand:

81 Jobs, Per Day, Per State. That's the Obama Recovery.

When it's put in simple terms such as that, the facts are irrefutable and the average American is going to know in their heart of hearts that Romney's correct. We all see the harsh unemployment conditions all around us. If Romney-Ryan would use the "81 Jobs Per State, Per day" line it'd ring true with everyone.

Americans with a reasonably functioning brain, capable of doing basic math

Unfortunately, this is an ever-decreasing percentage of the population. On the radio this a.m. I heard that the household jobs number is based on a telephone survey of 60,000 households. I would like to see where the new (one-third changes each month) households surveyed are located. Are they in areas where there are more typically hard-working people than in previous surveys?

People count as employed if they start a business of any kind from their homes. What does this mean, posting a notice on a neighborhood bulletin board that you are willing to babysit, walk dogs, mow lawns? Does the simple act of posting the notice move you from unemployed to employed in the BLS statistics? Did BLS change methodology or definitions used for this statistic just this month? I can find statistics on the BLS website, but not answers to these questions.

Jack Welch: Obama Cooking the Books on Jobs

Friday, October 5, 2012 09:17 AM

By: Forrest Jones

The U.S. economy added a net 114,000 jobs in September, while the unemployment rate fell to a surprisingly low 7.8 percent, a number former GE boss Jack Welch described as cooked up by the Obama administration.

The September jobs number brought the unemployment rate below 8 percent for the first time in about four years.

Total employment rose by 873,000 in September, following three months of little change, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Unbelievable jobs numbers ... these Chicago guys will do anything ... can’t debate so change numbers,” Welch said on his Twitter page, referring to President Barack Obama’s performance in the first presidential debate earlier this week.

Other experts expressed similar surprise.

Was that figure calculated using 50 states or 57?

&&&&&

Your wish has been granted. I just heard on the 1pm fox radio news an actual voice clip of Romney saying that if the same number of jobs were available today as when Obama was elected, the unemployment rate would be around 11%. I hope they play that clip every half hour!

It’s not just the number either, it’s the type of job. Under Obama we’ve been losing good paying mfg jobs and being replaced by burger flippers (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Clarify that just a bit:

For every 1 new job, 12 jobs lost.
