Careful there . . .aspirin is a blood thinner which may help break up a clot causing the stroke. However, not all strokes are caused by clots. If the stroke is caused by an aneurism (weakening of blood vessel/bubble ready to burst) or other malady - the damage could be far worse.
I believe you’re correct. There are ischemic strokes (lack of oxygen/circulation to the neurons) and hemorrhagic strokes (escape of blood from vessels into surrounding tissues thus causing mechanical compression in a restricted compartment [skull]).
