A bike can do some serious damage.

There was a guy in my hometown who decided to commit suicide by cycle and succeeded. Unfortunately he took a guy in a pickup truck with him.

He got going full tilt down the highway and cut across the median and caught the truck in the driver side door. Bike, rider, truck door and truck driver all ended up back near the tailgate on the passenger side.

No kidding! If the rider is small-ish, you're looking at a weight of about 600 lbs. Kinetic energy increases at the square of the velocity. So if you double the velocity, the kinetic energy increases by a factor of 4. Triple the velocity, and you're looking at a 9 times increase in the kinetic energy.

That sort of impact will destroy just about any vehicle on the roads today, killing everyone in it.
