How humbling is life? You can be a handsome (and largely talentless) Hollywood star married to an actress and beauty queen and decades later, you can die on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

It could be worse. You could be Joanie from Happy Days.

METV’s been running the “Sixth Sense” episodes of Night Gallery the last week or so.

As if they could see into the future.... eerie, no?

RIP

74 years old.

I remember when 74 sounded old.

Now it sounds middle aged.

Which must mean I know a lot of 148 year old people.

The strangest tv coincidence I ever saw involved a special BBC showing in the US of a group of Baker Street Irregulars meeting to commemorate the death of Sherlock Holmes with the guy that played Dr. Watson on the Grenada tv series. Jeremy Brett, who played Holmes in that series, died the next day.

Trying to remember who he was. Did he play a vampire on a soap opera my MIL used to watch?

“you can die on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”

Nah; the vampire was Jeremy Somebodyelse. Jeremy Brett played the more realistic Sherlock Holmes; and was the best one.

I believe you are thinking of the actor Gary Lockwood.

Gary Collins co-starred in a TV series “The Wackest Ship in the Army.” His co-star, who I though did a fine job in the series was Jack Warden.

Whoa..! I am old enough to remember the TV series, and also the reruns of the Jack Lemmon movie of the same name. Man, I haven't thought about 'The Wackiest Ship in the Army' in over 35 years. Yikes, what a blast from the past.

Yes, I remember the movie as well-I think Ricky Nelson
was the movie equivalent of Gary Collins.
The chief petty officer was the same in both movies, a fine character actor, Klein was his last name as I recall.
