You'd have to be somebody who takes the supermarket tabloids seriously to let a celebrity sway your opinion, regardless of the candidate or political party.
The celebrity worship in this country is ridiculous. If you are dumb enough to let celebrities help make up your mind, you deserve every bit of the big government we've been getting for the past few decades.

True, but every election cycle we need to win the votes of stupid voters. It's better to do that by getting flashy spokespeople than by saying we support stupid liberal policies which sound good to stupid people.
