Careful. As I recall, the real D/R/I numbers for NC are not all that favorable. Many register D and alway vote R. So D+10 may not be as far off as one would think.

Someone who really knows the actual NC registration figures should post them.

Could be like Alabama. many here vote Democrat in state politics, but Republican in national elections.

Don't have the figures, but Gallup in 2011 had it as:

44% democrat/lean democrat

41% gop/lean gop.

No mention of independents.
