Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan.

Two brothers, one guitar.

When BB King calls you the greatest blues guitarist of all times it means something.

I take it you're a horn player. Check out the horns on this piece.

The Kenyan must go.

I love SRV. I saw the brothers play the one guitar trick at Will Rogers Auditorium in Ft. Worth when I was 14.

Talked to him once when I was 15. Cool guy.

Miss him bad.

Talked to Jimmy Lee Vaughan later when I was about 24 (about 3 or so years after Stevie was killed) at a show in Dallas. Cool as cool can be.

That’s Chad Wackerman on drums. I’m friends with his brother John Wackerman.

SRV knows how to play and he SURE knows how to dress! He’s the only dude I know who can wear an earring like that and make it look natural.

The difference in the audience reception of him from his first appearance and 2nd appearance at Montreux is very telling. Little respect the first time. Adoration the second. Saw him at the Brevard County fair in Florida after he “cleaned” up and he took a little time to tell the audience of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Awesome player and I miss his playing. Saw Joe Walsh a few weeks ago here in Reno and he too made an anti-drinking statement. Said he got drunk once, for 34 years . Said it was one of the hardest things he ever did cleaning up. Show was great and he still plays awesome.

Helping keep mankind warm for 65 years.

P.S. Missed sandra fluke at the sak and save yesterday. Had we known we probably would have taken some uh..... protection to give her. Poor destitute lawyer. (Law school graduate?)

As Ray Wylie Hubbard sang... “our Mr. Vaughan was the best who ever was”.

I’m laying the marker here.... SRV was the best ever, particularly-— he played and sang everything Hendrix did far better.

Another marker-— Janis Joplin sucked (not to besmirk the deceased...just to irk the living fans.)

That ain’t no lie....

I stole my mom’s car to meet him at Charlie’s that day. (Charlies was the place to buy strings; Charlie Wurtz Guitar Shop. That was THE place.)

I stole my mom’s car to smoke a joint with Jim Schuler and Robert Ealey (RIP) as well....

I was later one of Ealey’s Allstars....

Jim Schuler is one hell of a fine guitar player. Cool freakin’ slider, almost Johnny Winter.

Me and Eddie Shaver used to swap stories. RIP Eddie Shaver.
BillyJoe is kind of a deaf, old drunk asshole uncle, but if he likes you, you will always be a friend. Fnck I miss Eddie...

Dammit to hell, I miss those days....but the Lord has put me on a new path....I am still alive, amazing grace.

I still play. Played “Life by the Drop” this morning after my prayers....
