I don't even care if he doesn't have anything big, i like the idea of Obams sweating tonight over what it might be. If they have Allred as their attention whore looking to tip the scales, i like having the Donald on our side.

I can’t get too excited. I am focused like a laser on the debate tonight. Was visiting a friend and she can’t decide between Obama and Romney. Doesn’t believe Romney cares about the poor. Her husband, my husband and I just stared in disbelief. I tried to reason with her but quickly gave up.

ask her what OBAMA is doing for the POOR since the price of gas has doubled under his administration, the # of people receiving foodstamps has skyrocketed and the price of groceries goes up every time you set foot in the store. how could ROMNEY do worse than what obama has done.
just had the paralegal in here for a half an hour discussing the election. she missed me last week like crazy since she’s had no one to discuss the second debate and the other stuff with. She won’t watch the debate either, she gets too nervous, like me. so she said she will instead go to target or walmart after work to get 2016 and watch that instead and then tune in to hear the results after the fact.

Oh, I mentioned that. She then said Romney lies and is an elitist. I asked her if she watched the debates or bothered to learn anything about Romney. She hemmed and hawed and her husband rolled his eyes behind one of the twins. She lived on welfare for a few years, then got herself to college and earned a degree in computer software, which is what she does now. She is proud of getting herself out of poverty. Still couldn’t reach her. New York is going Obama with or without her vote. I was astounded, though. Not speechless. I figured even she had to see through Obama by now. Guess not.

I wonder how much Axlerod is paid
To go out and spin for Obama?
To claim his word is irrefragable
And add a helping of drama?

He insists that being president
Is a thing Romney doesn’t know-
Apparently neither does Obama,
So Libya is a horror show

He plays golf as Rome is burning
Campaigning each and every day-
Make him find an estate in Hawaii
Then pack up and just go away...

I actually met a 9-11 truther today at my friend/neighbor’s deli-I’ve heard of them, of course, but I’d never met one. It was not an experience I ever want to repeat, either-what a scary conspiracy theorist-and just in time for Halloween.

I stopped on my way home to say hi and treat myself to a turkey, cheese and veggie sandwich to go for late lunch/early dinner. There was no one else there, so my friend and I were talking about Libya, etc when a white guy about my age came in, walked up to the counter and ordered a sandwich. While we waited, and my friend was making the sandwiches, he said he’d overheard us talking (we’d shut up when he walked in) and wanted to know if we thought the destruction of the towers on 9-11 was really caused by airplanes.

He claimed it was explosives in the basement, and Bush
and Cheney had ordered it done. As he escalated and got louder and crazier, my friend slapped together his sandwich and sides as fast as she could-she and I were both barely believing what we were hearing, and didn’t say a word until he paid for his food-we just said have a nice day as he left.

She’d never met one of those, either, and I told her I’d been about to go behind the counter to help her with his order so he’d hurry and go away....

“A Guide for the Married Man” is not only a good example of ignoring the obvious-it is one of the funniest movies ever-I saw it as a teen for the first time, and I’ve seen it uncounted times since.

xshub was up in New Hartford taking his dad to the doctor today. he called and was astounded at the GINORMOUS romney signs he saw along 81 and the # of them up there, in general. he also saw a bumper sticker that said, “I don’t care where you were born, I am only bothered by where you live NOW.” hahaha! pretty good for upstate NY i think!
In a bit of disturbing news though, he said that at the midnight madness which is the first basketball practice/event of the season, they let people in without tickets and that a lot of “townies” came and that as a consequence there were several STABBINGS in the upper decks! xsboy said that the houses along Walnut and Comstock [where the frats and a lot of other student off campus housing are located] were warned by the police not to have any parties for the foreseeable future, because it was learned that its a gang initiation rite to STAB AN SU STUDENT. nice. The police told them they could not protect them if they had open parties.

Thank you!

The encounter with the truther guy was really a window into what madness there is out there-I mentally dismissed him as one of the garden variety mountain men/loons that live out here-until he started using words like murder and war crimes-that made my skin crawl and my friend put together a food order at light speed to get him gone elsewhere fast...
