I’ve found the theme song for the rest of this election season. A little feel-good Carter era Styx.

Faith be with me now!
I’m just a dreamer in a dream land

I was redistricted and just saw a commercial on FOX from the Dem candidate. OMG, it was a ladyparts appeal. I cracked up. Young beautiful women shown, till they mentioned Rep...then the woman was old and frowning as he told us Reps will deny women healthcare.

Bayonets, wasn’t that a hoot? Did you notice he tried to modify how he says Pockestan? ROFL Must have been some debate prep counseling. And he managed not to try the word corpsman.

If he was trying, he failed miserably. I noticed his continuing “foreign” pronunciation.

Yare

The word that goes right before Matey, “Yare Matey!”.

To pronounce this word properly cover one eye with a black patch.

A yare Romney managed to avoid confrontation with Obama throughout most of the debate last night. O’Reilly says it was boring, and I have to agree. Romney had a couple of good lines, but he said that he agreed with Obama most of the time.

The biggest obstacle for Romney last night would have been to be portrayed as another Bush warmonger. He avoided that, thus he passed the foreign affairs test. I don’t agree with bOre that it was boring, but I’m a political junkie, unlike most Americans.

I’m a political junkie too, but I was busy multitasking during the debate (and feeling guilty about NOT being at an important school board meeting to support a friend). My habit of listening to these debates, instead of actually WATCHiNG them, contributed to my feeling of boredom. Apparently I missed the visual cues of the President looing angry and grim and the challenger looking smiling, calm and controlled.

I thought Romney had some good lines — especially about Israel and the apology tour — but it was not as exciting as previous encounters. Thus, it suffered in the minds of those less politically attuned.

There seemed to be a certain yare in Romney's responses last night that appeared to point toward a man who has the confidence that he will be the next President of the United States.

On a side note, I couldn't get the image out of my head of that Duke and Duke brother from the movie "Trading Places" screaming, "Come Back!..... Come back!.... Turn the machines back on..... Turn the machines back on!....... to sum up Obozo's desperate performance.....

Several things contributed to the snoozefest that was last night:

1. Debate fatigue. We’re all debated out.
2. Romney was just running out the clock, handling the ball off-tackle to his fullback. He only needed to not offend.
3. Obama gives the same answers, same talking points that he does in every appearance. Nothing new except his increasing sense of superiority.

When Obama laughed while Romney was speaking, I was shouting YES! Keep channeling that loser, JoeyB. But, Obama managed to restrain himself for the most part. Not his stare and his demeanor though. He acted like a candidate down in the polls who was debating a President Romney. Instead of answering questions, he wasted time trying to say things about Romney and looking petty. Romney managed to look presidential with ease.

Krauthammer said that Romney unequivocally won. that’s good enough for me. i didn’t watch, i went to sleep instead. still trying to get back on schedule.

Yes, it was. The same album also has a song on it called “Eddie.” When I was 11 years old, I had no idea what this was about:

***********************

Can we ignore the basic facts of history
Or deny what people say is destiny
First in the eighties, but last of the sons
First in the eyes of his countrymen
I think the message is ever so loud and clear

Eddie, now don’t you run
You know you’re a bootlegger’s son
And you saw just what it’s done to the others

Eddie, now don’t you run
It’s the end of all your fun
And you saw just what they done to your brothers

By doing other things and just listening (the TV was on in the same room where I was surfing the web, working on a Sudoko, and handling the daily mail) I noticed the number of times the Pres’ent said “I”. It was I, I, I, and me. I wonder if anyone ever counts those. That was followed by You, you, and you. There was little information passed.
