I doubt there are gay lovers. Those marriages don't get reconciled. If a wife walks in on her husband with another man, pleads of "I'm sorry honey! It won't happen again!" isn't going to help. That marriage is fatally wounded.
Most likely, the divorece filings were a result of mundane disagreements that millions of other American couples can relate to. Yet the Obamas somehow perservered and patched up their marriage. How do you think this is going to look to typical voters?

But, I disagree that two ambitious people, as Barak and Michelle are, would call it quits.
You assume that they abide by the same morals as you and I. They do not.
